Recon is a machine, operated under a researcher's direction, that mines the archived internet to answer one precise question. The output is published as a structured spreadsheet and companion document.
Recon does not editorialise. The database is the argument, made visible through its structure, so that oppression legible only as scattered incidents becomes legible as architecture: who acted, when, where, how often, against whom, under what authority, with what outcome.

Notes about using Signal privately:
- This group is set to admins-only messaging, so members can't post here for now. We're preparing a mechanism to receive feedback and have conversations, that will come in a few weeks.
- Other members can see your profile name (and photo, if you've set one) in the group. Your phone number is only visible based on your own privacy settings ("Who can see my number").
- You don't need to have someone in your phone's contacts to message them on Signal. Whether your number or username is discoverable by others depends on your individual privacy settings, which you can adjust anytime in Settings.
